Sustainability - full speed ahead!
We are inspired by nature, design with dedication and have the highest quality standards. Sustainability at all levels is a matter of course for us. Long-lasting favourites are our claim to sustainable fashion for women.
We promise to act fairly and conscientiously. We constantly put ourselves to the test and make sure we are on the right track. Our sustainability concept consists of ten points with which we create transparency and value ecological and social aspects.
1. Our quality standards | High quality. Durable.
We only use high-quality materials in the production of our sustainable women's fashion. In combination with the best quality workmanship, we ensure the longevity of every single item of clothing. So, you can wear them for many years and enjoy them every season, and the environment also benefits from less impact.
2. Our design idea | Slow. Combinable.
We make fashion without an expiration date instead of fast fashion. You can combine every new collection with older designs. This is how we create products that you can wear for much longer than just one season. We design beautiful longevity - slow down with Sorgenfri Sylt.
3. Our non-throw-away mentality | 2nd Season
Every item of clothing deserves a second chance! Throwing away is not an option for us. You can find last season's fashion and B-goods in our outlet stores in Kiel and Eckernförde. There it's called "2nd Season" shopping. Have fun!
4. Our use of materials | Recycled. Sensible.
Our products are predominantly made from natural fibres. We only use synthetic fibres (e.g. elastane) if it promises additional benefits for the product or the customer. Where possible, the synthetic fibres are recycled fibres, and the natural fibres are sustainable fibres. Our products are labelled accordingly.
5. Our zero-waste collection
Goodbye, offcuts! Thanks to intelligent cuts, we use every millimetre for efficient and resource-saving production. The conventional average is 20% offcuts - we only produce 1%! How does this work? Garments are knitted in one piece, which means that almost all the precious raw material ends up in the product! Anything else would be a shame!
6. Our upcycling idea | Leftovers? Let's turn them into favourite pieces!
We love upcycling! Because if we do end up with scraps, we use them to make great accessories such as headbands and hand warmers. This is how we turn leftovers into everyday favourites.
7. Our packaging and transportation | cardboard and the good jute!
You will receive your goods in environmentally friendly cardboard boxes with FSC certification or made from recycled material - delivered by DHL gogreen. Our stores also stock paper bags that are FSC-certified or made from recycled material. We also have colourful jute bags ready for you! And we use as little plastic as possible throughout our supply chain.
8. Our supply chain and our producers | Responsible. Personally.
We bear responsibility. When selecting our producers, we therefore pay close attention to shared values and ensure that they also act responsibly and that we produce sustainable fashion hand in hand.
90% of our fashion is produced by suppliers with whom we have been working for at least ten years. We value long-term business relationships, as this allows us to trust that our standards are maintained and gives our suppliers the security of knowing that they will receive our production orders on a permanent basis.
Small manufacturers are very important to us. That's why we like to work with small and micro-enterprises in the production of our clothing. In this way, we support family businesses and the small-scale economy. The products manufactured in small factories are labelled "lille fabrik".
9. Our matters of the heart | Fashionable. Moral.
For us, fashion should not only look great, but also feel great. With our changing special editions, we support social and ecological projects with part of the profits. You will find corresponding labels on the products.
Green Friday instead of Black Friday. While many international companies use Black Friday to maximize their sales, we take a different approach. We distance ourselves from the widespread practice of producing low-quality items especially for Black Friday. Instead, together with GreenAdz and WeForest, we plant a tree in Zambia for every purchase made during the week. In 2022 we were able to plant 1600 trees and in 2023 already 2000 trees. Let's make the world greener and more colourful!
Do you already know our one-ear pigs? These cute pigs made from bamboo roots are handcrafted in Indonesia from leftovers of this important building material. They sometimes arrive with small flaws. We sell these not quite perfect one-ear pigs for a good cause. We have been donating the proceeds to the children's cancer ward at the UKSH for many years. Meet your no-ear pig
10. Certificates | Verifiably sustainable.
We are GOTS-certified. GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) is the world's leading textile processing standard for organic fibres. The certification defines holistic requirements along the entire production and value chain. Many items of clothing in our current collection are certified and labelled accordingly. Keep an eye on it!
